The Baby's Room...

We're just getting started on the nursery ... we're still shopping for a rocking chair, we need to paint the walls, stain the dresser, hang the chandlier... so much to do - so little time!

Happy 3rd Anniversary to us!

We cannot believe just how quickly the last three years have gone by! To celebrate our anniversary Wes and I headed up to Beaver Creek for the weekend.

We stayed at the beautiful slope side Park Hyatt Resort.

I just loved all the beautiful flowers that were covering the resort and the Village. So pretty! (How come I can't get my garden to look like that?)

We walked around the Village area and checked out all the great shops and restaurants on Saturday afternoon. There were neat sculptures and water features all over the Village.

The hotel's happy hour is a bit different than what you might expect... from 4-6pm they offer guests little boxes full of ingredients to make s'mores on the huge open fire pit. It was way too hot for me to sit by the fire so Wes was in charge of roasting the marshmallows for both of us. Yum!

Saturday night we got dressed up to go out to dinner. We ate at the Beaver Creek Chophouse and Wes had the BEST New York Strip steak I have ever tasted. Our waiter treated us to dessert (amazing bread pudding) on the house in celebration of our anniversary.

Sunday morning we had coffee out on the hotel terrace ... with this guy and his 3 friends.

Before checking out of the hotel on Sunday afternoon Wes and I indulged in a little Italian gelato - and let me tell you it was soooo yummy!!! Just what a pregnant lady needs, right?

My Growing Belly!

So long as the rest of the pregnancy goes smoothly, we won't have any more ultrasounds. So from now on we can only see our baby girl growing by looking at my growing belly. :)

Baby Ryan is a GIRL!

At our third ultrasound at 20 weeks we were thrilled to find out that Baby Ryan is a GIRL! Wes thought we were having a little girl the whole time and he was right!

Here are a couple profile shots of our baby girl.

We're so excited to welcome this little girl into the world (around October 26th) but we're keeping her name a secret until then.

Baby Ryan - 1st Ultrasound

At our first ultrasound we got to see our (very little) munchkin for the first time! We were told that the baby was about the size of a blueberry at this point (7 weeks 3 days).

On the morning of Wednesday February 18th, 2009 I was delighted to find out that Wes and I were expecting our first child.
I couldn't wait for Wes to get home that night so I could tell him the wonderful news! He walked in the door to candle light that led him up the stairs...


He was led into the future "nursery" to find a picture of the home pregnancy test sitting in the chair my grandpa made me for my first birthday along with Wes' favorite childhood teddy bear.

When we were ready to tell my parents that I was pregnant we enlisted Atlas to help. He wore a t-shirt over to my parents' house that said, "I was the baby first!" It took my parents a few minutes to figure it out but when they did, they were thrilled just like us!

more than a year of catching up!

So obviously we're not great at keeping up with this blog... but we're going to do our best to get better at it! Last time we posted we had a brand new puppy - well he is a year and half old now and he's tons of fun! So here's a picture of Atlas on his 1st birthday (October 25, 2008).
