Our First "Baby"

For Christmas Wesley bought me a wonderful little Sheltie puppy! We named him Atlas (after the rockets that Wes works on every day). We brought him home when he was only eight weeks old and 2.5 lbs. In just four weeks he has already grown a ton! so we thought we'd share a few pictures now of his first few days at home with us.

How can you not love this face?


When Atlas first came home he was so tiny he could fit just about anywhere.


Our cousins Heidi and Ben were here for Atlas' first day at home. Clearly the kids are cuter than the puppy, and we're okay with that. :)

Our First 14er!

Wow!!! What a weekend we had. Wes and I climbed our very first 14er together on Saturday with a few friends. It took about 3.5 hours (on a very hot day!) but we made it to the top of Gray's Peak!! What a view! It was by far the most incredible site - - God's creation has never looked so beautiful! I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking . . .

On our way to the top we were very fortunate to see some amazing mountain goats and their little babies. So cute!!

This one wasn't shy at all and we were able to get very close to it . . . it kept posing for the camera too!

We took our time coming back down the mountain and took a few shots of the wildflowers along the trail. I love this picture of the Columbine that Wes took - he's becoming quite the photographer!

We're already looking forward to our next 14er!!

First Blog!

We have a blog! Yea!! We hope to use this site to share stories, and pictures with our family and friends. Since we were married last summer it seems like SO much has happened in our lives and we just thought it would be fun to document all of the excitement! Plus, we are constantly busy working on our house and landscaping projects so now we'll be able to keep everyone up-to-date on our progress - pictures and all! I guess having the blog now will be just one more "project" . . . I just can't help myself I guess.
